Cube 8.5/10
My friend recently got Netflix and what that means for me is that I’ve been watching some obscure movies lately, most recently Cube. Or, as I prefer to call it The Cube. I don’t know much about it’s background but I assume it’s from the 90s and I’m about 80% sure it’s Canadian, if it’s not it definitely had that Canadian feel.
Cube is about these 6 strangers who find themselves suddenly trapped in a cube within a cube, none of them know how they got in the cube. To get out they must exit through one of the hatch-like doors to a neighbouring cube BUT the twist is that some cubes are traps as the poor fella in the picture above found out. Interesting premise.
As the movie goes on you learn a lot more about the characters and their flaws and as time goes on in the cube the frustration, paranoia, tension, lack of sleep and etc. cause the characters to turn on one another Lord of the Flies style, that’s where things gets interesting and when the movie moves from a 7/10 to an 8.5/10.
