Food Review

Cuisine: Vietnamese

Where: Pho Japolo (North Vancouver)

This was the third time I’ve had Vietnamese and the first time where I absolutely LOVED it; either I had a case of the munchies (not really) or it really was THAT good. This place was really busy (fyi: there are only two Vietnamese restaurants in North Vancouver) and the interior of the restaurant looks as if it once was a Deutsche schnitzel haus, despite carrying my camera around with me everywhere I go I didn’t take any photos, completely did not cross my mind. For shame!

BUT I took photos of the leftovers I had for lunch the next day!

#51 Combo of Salad Roll (on the left, has shrimp), Pork Roll (on the right) and Fried Roll (not pictured)
YUM. I can only comment on these heated up the next day but I bet they were way better fresh and chilled. The Salad Roll with the shrimp was really tasty but the pork roll seemed to have much more flavour, I can’t comment on the fried roll as all I tasted was a piece that happened to be in the sauce they packed up….ew, but the sauce was really good, I wish I knew what it was so I could use it in my wok cooking.

#72 Veggie Marinated Grilled Chicken (vermicelli bowl)
I played it safe with this one but the dish had an amazing flavour, was light and totally refreshing. Leftover the next day however it wasn’t as good, it went a little slimy. From what I could tell it had green onion, tons of bean sprouts, possibly cucumber, carrot and some other stuff that I couldn’t quite distinguish but together is was delicious.

Concensus: Would I go here again? YES, and would probably order the same thing again because it was that good; however, next time I’m going to reach across the table and sample whatever whoever I’m eating with is having for research purposes.
